AfrJigi AI-powered learning built for African students

AfrJigi is an education technology company. Its product, Akili, is a curriculum-aligned AI tutor that students in Côte d’Ivoire use every day on WhatsApp and the web to understand lessons, work through exercises, and prepare for the BEPC and BAC.

Akili, help me understand this math exercise.
Let us reason step by step. First, identify what the question is asking.
I found P(i) = 0.
Correct. That means i is a root of the polynomial, so P(z) is divisible by z − i.

Meet Akili

Akili is AfrJigi’s AI-powered educational tutor. Students ask questions in text or by voice, send a photo of their exercise, and work step by step with Akili. It covers the BEPC, the general BAC and the technical BAC, from 6e to Terminale.

Akili guides students through the reasoning instead of simply giving the answer. It relies on official curricula and annual progressions, past examination papers, and courses shared by partner teachers.

Study mode

Akili explains and lets the student choose the method.

Which formula would you use? (a) v = d/t (b) v = d × t (c) v = t/d. Answer a, b or c.
a
Right. Now compute v for d = 120 m and t = 8 s.

Photo of an exercise

The student sends a photo; Akili reads it and starts with the first question.

Exercise 1 is about the function f(x) = (3x − 1)e^(2x). Start with question 1: what is the derivative of e^(2x)?

Exam mode

The student solves alone on paper; Akili grades with the official marking scheme.

Exercise 1: 4.5 / 6. Question 2 is correct; in question 3 the limit at +∞ is missing.

Real conversations on WhatsApp

Built with teachers

Teachers remain at the center. Teachers of mathematics, physics, economics, French, English, Spanish, electronics and other technical subjects in general and technical high schools in Côte d’Ivoire share their curricula, progressions and courses, test Akili and report errors so the team can correct them.

Partner teachers listed with their permission. Other teachers contribute without being named.

Partner teachers have their own teacher space in Akili: they see Akili exactly as their students do, prepare lessons, exercises and graded assessments, and flag any answer that needs correcting.

Our goal is not to replace teachers but to give every student additional support between classes, and to help teachers with the repetitive workload of large classes.

Built around local educational context

Levels

6e to Terminale: BEPC, general BAC (A, C, D) and technical BAC (B, E, F, G series).

Subjects

Mathematics, physics and chemistry, life and earth sciences, French, philosophy, history and geography, English, Spanish, economics and technical subjects.

Resources

Official curricula and annual progressions, past BEPC and BAC papers, and courses shared by partner teachers.

Learning where students already communicate

Akili is available on WhatsApp because accessibility matters: students and families already use it every day, on modest phones and limited data. Akili also offers a web app for students, teachers and partners.

A structured pilot with partner schools is under way for the 2026–2027 school year.

Built with modern AI infrastructure

Akili runs on Google Cloud (Cloud Run, Firestore, Cloud Storage) and Vertex AI with Gemini models.

Starting with exams. Building for the long term.

BEPC and BAC preparation are the entry point, not the final destination. AfrJigi’s long-term goal is to support African learners across every stage of education, in an ecosystem where students, teachers, educational content and AI-powered tools work together.
